A master calligrapher, Ngan Siu-Mui was born in Hong Kong and has lived in Quebec since 1988. Herself a disciple of great masters, she has devoted herself to Chinese traditional arts since 1975. She teaches Chinese calligraphy and painting, as well as seal carving, and works on her own artistic production.
This Sinologist specializes in Chinese aesthetics and graphic arts. She is also a recognized calligrapher and painter in China, where she has shown her works. This link is to her article (in French) entitled Chengdu 99, which appeared in the spring 2000 issue of the magazine Vacarme,
and was written after her involvement in an exhibition organized by independent Chinese calligraphers.
Calligraphy of the Masterswww.chinapage.com/callig1.html
This Chinese site, translated into English, presents in alphabetical order some 40 of the greatest calligraphers in Chinese history. For each one, there is a hypertext link to a list (not exhaustive) of their main works, often illustrated with excerpts or entire works, and sometimes rounded out with a translation of the text of the calligraphy.
